Teams Nation is back! Join us 21st Feb 2024!

Yes, Teams Nation Community Conference is back! And it is just a few weeks ahead, so let me tell you a bit about the event. It is happening Wednesday 21st February 2024, 09:00 – 20:00 CET (Central European Time) (UTC+1). In it you will find 60+ sessions that are delivered by Microsoft MVPs, Regional Directors, experts and Microsoft Certified Trainers.

Teams Nation offers seven rooms with different themes for its sessions. Anyone who wants to learn about Microsoft Teams and Modern & Future Work can find something relevant, as the sessions cover Microsoft Teams, AI, Copilot, Mesh, and other related technologies. You don’t need to be an expert IT Pro or Teams developer to join. Teams Nation has a variety of sessions for end users, adoption, business, IT Pro and developers. Simply select the ones that match your profile and interest.

What is Teams Nation?

Teams Nation is a free and community-based online conference that focuses on Microsoft Teams, its core and related technologies, and ways to extend it. It wants to share the expertise and insights of outstanding technical experts and leaders with the Teams community and make a high-quality Teams conference accessible to those who have financial difficulties.

This is the 6^th installation of Teams Nation. The first one was 2019 and called Octoberfest and the name changed quickly to TeamsFest, until we rebranded it as Teams Nation to better reflect the community and passion around Microsoft Teams. Previous Teams Nation 2022 has more than 5000 registered attendees. If you are interested how TeamsFest became Teams Nation, read Chris Hoard’s blog post about the transformation.

Our initial plan was to make Teams Nation 2022 the final one, but after hearing that many people wanted Teams Nation back, we decided to revive it. Teams Nation 2022 had more than 170 speakers, and it was becoming too big – especially since we are running this as a community event, along with work and other commitments we have (such as family).

If you are an end user, adoption champion or business decision maker you want to check out Adoption and Governance room sessions and will gaps from other rooms. If you are a developer, you obviously want to check out Build & Extend first.

Yes, Microsoft Copilot and Azure OpenAI Services are included, as well as Microsoft Mesh, Viva, Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot Studio, SharePoint and so on.

Scheduling the day

Teams Nation opens at 9am CET, and Europe is the grounding timezone here (as we all are from Europe). This means that people in UK can join the opening keynote at 8am and those who live in Sydney, Australia can join for evening sessions starting from 7pm.

This does not mean that the US / Americas would be left without content. No way! There are plenty of speakers who are from the US, Americas, and Canada and they need to sleep at night as well. As the day progresses, first people living in East Coast US (or similar timezone) can join sessions in their morning and people in West Coast US can join several sessions during their morning as ending keynotes begin at 11am Pacific time. That will be evening in Europe, but we did see people stick around the whole conference because they loved the content (based on feedback). APAC/Australia attendees miss a portion of conference as well unless people there are ready to stay awake the whole night. Which is something we do not recommend. Get a good sleep at night!

If you are missing sessions due to timezone, or you need to jump to work commitments during the day: don’t worry! Most of the sessions will be recorded and shared in Teams Nation / Metaverse One YouTube channel! Only five sessions out of 60+ will not be shared in the channel as we always honor speaker’s wishes.

Hint! When you are planning your Teams Nation Day, use the schedule to mark sessions to your list / favorite and you can sync that info between desktop and mobile app! Yes, the schedule can be installed as an application – which is a great feature by Sessionize! Thank you Sessionize for all the support you give for community events!

Teams Nation spirit

As always, we want to make Teams Nation convenient for attendees and speakers. Registering is easy and painless: just enter your email address and you will get information & calendar placeholder for Teams Nation. We are using Microsoft Teams (of course!) as a platform to host sessions and allow people to chat & network together while learning from sessions given by community experts. Teams Nation does not have financial sponsors, but we have Microsoft Teams, Tech Community and CommunityDays supporting us. That is why we can say Teams Nation is a 100% free 100% community conference meaning that it is entirely run for free by community members independent of Microsoft or any other third party.
