How Chat AI is Going to Revolutionize Our Work and Search

I was planning to write a blog post about the rise of Chat AI and GPTs. However, this morning I received email that I got access to the new Bing and it revolutionized that idea in the instant. I could not resist, but try it myself for various cases and I also discovered why this is really changing my work and the future. The fact that the new Bing is using GPT-4 and has access to information that was just recently published.
Edit 14.3.2023. It was revealed today that Bing Chat has been using GPT-4 all the time. OpenAI released today GPT-4 and first customers using it.
Edit 20.2.2023. Messaging which version GPT Bing Chat is not clear. I am reverting back to what was mentioned by Microsoft in their Blog post: “Next-generation OpenAI model. We’re excited to announce the new Bing is running on a new, next-generation OpenAI large language model that is more powerful than ChatGPT and customized specifically for search. It takes key learnings and advancements from ChatGPT and GPT-3.5 – and it is even faster, more accurate and more capable.” Basically that Bing Chat is using some version of GPT which is more advanced than GPT-3.5, but there hasn’t been a statement from Microsoft it would be GPT-4 either.
Also: Bing Chat is now limited to 5 questions per one one topic. This one limits its use for sure, since you can’t have a long iterative conversation with the AI anymore. It caused some unwelcome issues when people were hacking Bing to stray to paths that were bad. I understand that there has been also some more content filtering added, making Bing more responsible and politically correct (or biased in some cases). These moral guards / fences will limit the use but when thinking how Bing should be used, for helping to find information and to generate drafts , I don’t think these are not too bad. As usual – don’t take everything for granted without checking.

The new Bing is revolutionary

I run a conversation with the new Bing, asking it to help me to write this blog post in a sense. What could have taken me easily two hours or more, the new Bing was helping me to put this all together in less than 60 minutes.

15-20 minutes of that time went to my own insights (this beginning) and also doing some proofreading of reply texts. I could have just taken my first question to Bing and do nothing else. But that would have been no fun, and it would have not shown the true capability of the new Bing here.

Yes, I did took the title as provided. It was better one than what I could have come up right now. Catchy, Clickbait and also clear & short enough.

What I did test also, was how the new Bing can switch between languages – in my case I of course wanted to use Finnish because it is not that easy for AI. And it is my natural language. The conversation I had with Bing, I switched between English and Finnish, without telling Bing what language I was using. And it just works! This is one of those things I was truly amazed.

Of course the feedback on the blog post relates to the draft Bing itself wrote.

I did ask Bing about myself. Very impressive!

Yes, it even discovered I call myself “Mr. Metaverse” – so the self-proclaimed is 100% right there!

When I was asking about Sulava Oy, I found Bing has incorrect information. I corrected it and asked again.

Sulava Oy is one of the leading companies in Finland for Metaverse, which is a term that describes the convergence of physical, digital, and social realities in a shared virtual space. Sulava Oy offers consulting and training services to help customers leverage the potential of Metaverse for their business and work¹²³.

Sulava Oy is also a thought-leader in Metaverse, as it has created various use cases and solutions for different industries and scenarios, such as spontaneous interaction, innovation, co-creation, training, learning, onboarding, leadership, digital twins, virtual spaces, and new business models. Sulava Oy has also participated and spoken at various Microsoft events and webinars related to Metaverse, such as Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft Build, and Microsoft Teams Feature Focus¹²³.

Addition. It doesn’t seem that the feedback / corrections will carry beyond session.

This of course makes sense – it would be otherwise too easy to change information to incorrect one too.

So, let’s take the rest of the article from answers Bing provided me with it’s GPT-4 engine.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we work and search for information. One of the most exciting applications of AI is chat, which allows us to interact with machines as if they were human. Chat AI can understand natural language, generate relevant and engaging responses, and perform complex tasks. Chat AI can also learn from our feedback, preferences, and emotions, and provide personalized and adaptive solutions.

Chat AI can revolutionize our work and search in many ways. Here are some of the benefits of chat AI:

Chat AI can save time and effort. Instead of typing or scrolling through endless pages of results, we can just ask chat AI what we need and get the answers in a natural and conversational way. Chat AI can also perform multiple searches in a single conversation turn, and reference factual statements to the sources. Chat AI can also generate creative content such as poems, stories, code, essays, songs, and more, just for fun or for inspiration.
Chat AI can improve productivity and quality. Chat AI can help us with various tasks, such as scheduling meetings, booking flights, ordering food, writing emails, and more. Chat AI can also provide suggestions, tips, and feedback to help us improve our work. Chat AI can also help us learn new skills, such as languages, coding, or music, by providing interactive and adaptive lessons.
Chat AI can enhance collaboration and communication. Chat AI can facilitate teamwork by connecting us with the right people, resources, and tools. Chat AI can also help us communicate with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and languages, by providing translation, interpretation, and cultural awareness. Chat AI can also help us build rapport and trust with our clients, partners, and colleagues, by providing empathy, humor, and personality.

One of the best examples of chat AI is the new Bing, the chat mode of Microsoft Bing search. The new Bing is a game changer for anyone who wants to find information quickly and easily, without typing or scrolling. The new Bing can chat with us in our language of choice, such as English, Finnish, 中文, 日本語, Español, Français or Deutsch, and we can switch languages anytime. The new Bing can also use emojis, slang, abbreviations, and colloquialisms, and get our meaning.

The new Bing is not an assistant, but a search engine that can chat. It leverages Bing’s rich results and makes them even better with AI technology. It can perform up to 3 searches in a single conversation turn, and reference factual statements to the search results. It can also provide additional relevant details to respond thoroughly and comprehensively to cover multiple aspects in depth.

The new Bing is powered by ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art AI model developed by OpenAI, a research organization dedicated to creating artificial general intelligence. ChatGPT is based on GPT-3, the third version of the Generative Pre-trained Transformer, which is one of the most advanced natural language processing models in the world. ChatGPT can generate natural and coherent texts on any topic, based on a few words or sentences. ChatGPT can also find information in real time, by searching the web and integrating the results into the conversation.

The new Bing can utilize information that was just recently published, as long as it is available on the web and relevant to your query. The new Bing uses has been confirmed by Microsoft) version, which is a large language model that can generate natural and fluent text from any input. ChatGPT can also learn from new data and update its knowledge base over time.

The new Bing also integrates with Bing News, which provides news from world, national, and local sources, organized by topics and categories. Bing News updates frequently and covers a wide range of subjects, such as sports, entertainment, business, politics, weather, and more¹.

The new Bing can leverage both recent news and information along with the natural language capabilities of ChatGPT in a single solution. This means you can ask Bing questions about current events, trends, opinions, and facts, and get more complete and engaging answers. For example, you can ask Bing about the latest developments in the COVID-19 pandemic, the stock market, the Oscars, or the Super Bowl, and get relevant and timely responses.

And since the latest Last of Us episode aired early because of the Superbowl, I proceeded to test Bing a bit about this.

Addition: As another example I asked from Bing has anyone written a blog post how Chat AI is going to revolutionize or change our work and search. I did this query less than three hours after I published this blog post.

Yes, there are some blog posts about how Chat AI is going to revolutionize or change our work and search. For example, you can read the following articles:

  • How Chat AI is Going to Revolutionize Our Work and Search¹, which discusses how Chat AI can understand natural language, generate relevant and engaging responses, and perform complex tasks.
  • How generative AI & ChatGPT will change business², which explains how generative AI, which allows for the creation of original content by learning from existing data, has the power to revolutionize industries and transform the way companies operate.
  • How ChatGPT actually works³, which describes how ChatGPT is the latest language model from OpenAI and represents a significant improvement over its predecessor GPT-3, and how it can generate text in a wide range of styles and for different purposes.

That proves what was expected – the new Bing is changing how we search for information and it includes the recent information. I continued and asked Bing to summarize this article.

For this, not everything was just based on this article but it drew conclusions and summary from several relevant articles in my blog. What Bing didn’t get right is my role in Metaverse One 2023 conference – as I am the principal organizer there. When I asked how to join Metaverse One 2023 I found myself listed as a speaker there. Perhaps this is a hint, that I should speak in my own conference for sure.

To join the Metaverse One 2023 conference, you can visit their website and register for free. The conference is 100% online and 100% community driven, and it is dedicated to the Microsoft Metaverse, Mixed Reality, MR technologies, extensibility options and the Teams Platform & Microsoft 365. The conference will take place on September 20th, 2023, and will feature speakers from Microsoft and the community, such as Dona Sarkar, Imogen Schifferle, Arome Ibrahim, and Vesa Nopanen. You can also join their Meetup group¹ to stay updated on the latest news and events.

Of course the draft question I started with had the full reply for this

Privacy and the use of data by Microsoft

There are various questions in our minds. Is the new Bing using GPT 4 ? How Bing is ensuring my privacy? How the information is used by Microsoft and are they selling my information to 3rd party?

Yes, the new Bing is using GPT-4, which is a powerful language model developed by OpenAI that can generate humanlike text when given a prompt or question. Bing is the first search engine to integrate GPT-4, which is expected to have 100 trillion parameters and be much faster than the previous version, GPT-3.5, which powers ChatGPT (since 14.3.2023 ChatGPT+ users had GPT-4).

Bing is also committed to ensuring your privacy and security when you use its services. Bing collects and uses data from your search activity across the web, including websites Microsoft does not own or operate, to improve its services, such as Bing, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft News. However, Bing does not use your personal data, such as your name, email address, or phone number, to target ads to you. Bing also does not sell your data to third parties. You can control your privacy settings and preferences on Bing by visiting

Bing also uses encryption, authentication and authorization with Azure Active Directory to protect your data and workplace information when you use Microsoft Search in Bing, which is a feature that allows you to search for your organization’s files, people, sites, and more within Bing. Microsoft Search in Bing requests are made over HTTPS, and the connection is encrypted end-to-end for enhanced security.

When you copy-paste the reply, you also get references with it. These links also show the date when Bing last updated it’s information. Those are showing the date of today – when I writing this article. Very impressive!

The new Bing is a game changer!

The new Bing is a revolutionary technology that can change the way we work and search for information. It can save us time and effort, improve our productivity and quality, and enhance our collaboration and communication. It can also provide us with fun and entertainment, by generating creative content and engaging us in a smart and friendly conversation.

Yes, I am very excited about the new Bing. This just changed how I am searching for information and is also increasing my productivity. Although I do have to admit that this morning my productivity went sideways when I was testing out what the New Bing can do! 😂🥳😎

There also also some limits. One of those is max 2000 characters limit and Bing can not access external sources.

I can envision myself using Bing to speed up writing process. Getting new ideas and also having it summarize or evaluate some parts. This is the future how we are going to work – save time to be more innovative. Yes, I could make it simple and just generate texts with this one – but what would be the value? Use GPT to increase productivity and add your own insights and innovation there. I am very excited about this tech!

And you might even wonder: is Google search even needed anymore?
