Igniting the Tech Passion: My Must-See Sessions at Microsoft Ignite 2023

Are you attending Microsoft Ignite, the annual event where Microsoft highlights the latest innovations in AI, Modern & Future Work, Cloud, and more? I am and I will be joining the event online, which is free and open to anyone who wants to learn and discover what is upcoming to Microsoft ecosystem. Microsoft Ignite 2023 opens tomorrow, Wednesday 15th of November, at 9am Pacific Time (7pm in Finland).

Microsoft Ignite is an awesome chance to see what’s coming up in tech, and to learn how to take your organization to the next level with digital transformation. There are tons of sessions on all kinds of topics, like Microsoft Teams, Copilot & AI, Microsoft 365, Azure, and more. I’ve already signed up for the event and picked the sessions that I want to see the most. Here are some of the sessions that I’m excited about watching:

  • Microsoft Ignite Opening by Satya Nadella. I would not want to miss this one! It is always interesting to see what is highlighted at the opening keynote
  • Becoming an AI-Powered Organization with Microsoft Copilot. Rajesh Jha, Jared Spataro and other leaders tell how Microsoft Copilot will unlock productivity and transform business process for everyone across functions and industries.
  • Get ready for the future of work with Microsoft Teams . This session by Nicole Herskowitz & others from Microsoft will show how Microsoft Teams is a the way to work with the help of AI features and the mix of real and virtual worlds. (Yes, there will be Mesh in this one!). They will show new stuff and demos. There is also information on how customers, and us at Microsoft, are using these features to thrive as work keeps changing.
  • Microsoft Cloud in the era of AI. Scott Guthrie and other leaders will share how the Microsoft Cloud is uniquely positioned to help our customers transform by building AI solutions and unlocking data insights using the same platform and services that power all of Microsoft’s comprehensive solutions.
  • Inclusion x AI: Harnessing Inclusion for an Innovative Future. How do we envision and manifest an ambitious, future-proofed reality for intelligent, inclusive technology and thriving, innovative teams? With all its promise, AI cannot fully deliver on our aspirations for it without a holistic framework for inclusion. Lindsay-Rae McIntyre, Chief Diversity Officer and CVP Talent Development and Ashley Llorens, VP and Distinguished Scientist, Microsoft Research explore intersections of D&I and AI and our opportunities as technologists to build AI systems that benefit all of society.

These are just some of the sessions that I am excited about, but there are many more to explore. You can check out the full session catalog and register for the event at the Ignite site. There are also good session lists by Microsoft to check. For example:

Don’t forget that there are also many on-demand sessions. I have about 30 sessions in my Ignite backpack, and many of those will be live to watch when Ignite opens on Wednesday 15th. And since I am attending online, there is a huge time difference between Seattle and Finland. I admit it right away: I won’t stay up nights to watch those sessions. Instead, I have put them to my Ignite schedule & backpack to watch them later. On top of streamed & recorded sessions there are sessions that are not recorded and feedback / roundtable sessions that you need to (stay up late if you are not in US) participate online at the scheduled time.

Don’t’ miss the digital social swag site and let’s ignite the technology passion!
