Review: Jabra Speak2 75

As someone who works from home, attends a lot of online meetings, and does webinars I need a device that can provide clear and reliable audio that minimizes the background noises to attendees. It doesn’t happen often, but usually when I am holding a webinar or workshop there are loud machines outside such as leaf blower, road sweeper, roadwork or other sound noises nearby. I have tried and tested different speakerphones in the past, and now I got (thank you Jabra Finland!) the Jabra Speak2 75 for testing. I am glad to see how tech is evolving and improving every year – the best device bar is rising all the time higher and higher.  In this article, I will share with you why I think this speakerphone is actually a great choice for anyone who needs a professional and portable device for online communication.

If you are looking for a professional speakerphone that can deliver outstanding sound quality and performance for your hybrid work environment, the Jabra Speak2 75 is worth taking a look at. It is a portable and versatile speakerphone that can connect to your laptop, smartphone, or tablet via Bluetooth or USB. It has a sleek and elegant design that fits any office or home setting. It also comes with a convenient carrying case that protects it from dust and scratches.

But what makes the Jabra Speak2 75 stand out is its superb audio. It has a full-range 65mm speaker that produces clear and natural sound for both voice and music. It also has super-wideband audio that covers the full human hearing range, ensuring that every word is heard and understood. The device has four beam-forming noise cancelling microphones that focus on the speaker’s voice and reduce background noise. Mics pick up audio from up to 2.5 meters away. It filters out background noise quite effectively to my observations. This ensures that my voice should sound clear and natural to the other participants in the meeting. So far, I have been extremely happy with the quality.

I got the wired-version of Speak2 75 (without a dongle) , but there are also USB-C & A dongle versions available. The wire has a USB-C connector and a built-in adapter for USB-A, which means that I can plug it into any type of USB port without worrying about bringing an adapter with me. The cord is also long enough to give me some flexibility in placing the speakerphone on my desk or table. The best part is that the built-in USB C-A adapter is attached to the cord, so I never lose it or forget to bring it with me.

There is also an option to use Bluetooth for connection and USB can be used for charging, and I could pair this to a Jabra dongle. As I am using this on my desk, connecting the speakerphone to laptop with USB is quick. Yes, there are a bit more wires on the table (not good) but when not in use I tend to roll wires around the device (there is a slot in design where you roll the wire). If you are using Speak2 75 wireless it has a battery life of up to 32 hours and the wireless range is up to 98 ft with the Jabra Link Bluetooth adapter.

Color Ring – the Quality Indicator

Speak 2 75 has a Microphone Quality Indicator that shows and keeps you aware you the audio quality on your end. The device has a color ring that surrounds the device and indicates the audio quality with color. The color ring can change from green to yellow to red, depending on audio quality = how well attendees will hear you.

The color ring is a good invention, because it helps me to monitor the audio quality at a glance. This way I can adjust my position (or speakerphone’s position) to make sure attendees don’t have any issues of hearing me. This needs to be turned on separately at Jabra Direct app.

Sturdy build and built for Teams

The Jabra Speak2 75 has a sturdy and solid build that gives me a sense of quality and durability. The speakerphone is heavier compared to the previous ones I had, which can be a hindering factor for mobile workers. It is not too heavy (466g / 16.44oz), but it is heavier like Jabra’s previous models. The design is sleek and elegant– very modern. The speakerphone also comes with a protective pouch that makes it easy to carry and store.

Speak2 75 is certified for Microsoft Teams, which is the platform that I use most often for online meetings. This means that the speakerphone has been tested and verified to work seamlessly with Microsoft Teams, and that it has a dedicated button that can launch the app and join the meeting with one touch. This is a must-have feature for me, because it saves me time and hassle in connecting and managing the speakerphone and the app. It is also certified for Zoom and Google Meet.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I have had only good experiences with the Jabra Speak2 75 speakerphone. I didn’t have any issues nor glitches and it performs extremely well. It is a device that delivers quality audio and design for hybrid and online meetings. It has great array of microphones, a convenient cord (in my version) with USB adapter, a color ring for audio quality, a sturdy build, and a Microsoft Teams certification. At home office, or when traveling, this speakerphone is really good and delivers its promise. I didn’t try any special features – only used it with Teams and other recordings and of course utilized Teams-button a lot.

It is possible to customize your settings and preferences with the Jabra Direct software on PC or the Jabra Sound+ app (on mobile). Just like any other Jabra device.

The Jabra Speak2 75 is to me the best speakerphone today for hybrid working. It offers sound quality, cool – and useful – audio quality indicator, and flexibility for any work scenario. Whether you are working from home, in the office, or on the go, this device will help you communicate effectively and efficiently. The price range is around the same as Speak 750. It may not be worth upgrading all your Speak 750’s but if you need the audio quality indicator or you are planning a get a new one then check Speak2 75 for sure.

Yes, this is quite a positive review but it is because that is how I truly feel about this device.
